THANK YOU for Your Donation of Food and Time to Support the FOOD DRIVE

NOVEMBER, 2022

Thank you Cody for your donation of 5,800 pounds of food. And thank you to the 115+ volunteers who gave up their Saturday to process the donations. Everyone’s contribution to fight food insecurity is greatly appreciated.

We are always accepting donations, both monetary and food. For those who want to donate food, the Cody Cupboard has two permanent food drop boxes on 15th Street behind our building. Details on how to make a monetary donation are available here.

HAPPY 35th BIRTHDAY

JUNE 28, 2022

This month The Cody Cupboard marks 35 years of supporting the community.

Instead of cards, a cake or candles we ask that you consider a donation of your time to help in our mission of providing food assistance to those in need.

Thank you for 35 years of support.

The Wyoming Hunger Initiative is Turning Soil Into Solutions

April 7, 2022

Some people get excited about the April showers that bring May flowers, but I’m looking forward to the April snowfalls that bring May gardens! Wyoming Hunger Initiative recently launched its second season of Grow a Little Extra by distributing six varieties of vegetable seeds proven to thrive in Wyoming’s growing season to University of Wyoming Extension offices across the state.

The premise of the program is simple: fresh produce can be expensive and difficult to procure for food pantries. So, we’re asking gardeners of all ages to donate their extra produce throughout the summer. Last year gardeners accepted the challenge to the tune of 10,000 lbs of donated produce! That means fresh, local food for anti-hunger organizations throughout Wyoming to distribute to our neighbors in need.

You can pick up (free!) seeds at your county’s Extension office, or simply donate some of what you’re already planning on growing—no matter what, it’s pretty magical to see soil turn into solutions in the fight against food insecurity.

Together, we can end hunger in Wyoming.

With love and gratitude,
Jennie Gordon
