To create a body of committed citizens working together to alleviate hunger in the Cody area by providing temporary food assistance to those in need.
Prior to the Cupboard’s inception, some churches had small food pantries, but nothing was available on a community basis. With some funding from the Cody Council of community services, the Cody Cupboard was incorporated in June of 1987 and housed in the courthouse basement. In 2001, the Cupboard moved to the city owned building behind the Chamber of Commerce. In January 2017 a city Quonset hut was beautifully refurbished into our new, clean, safe food pantry location.
You are an important part of The Cupboard. From its beginning, the Cupboard has been operated entirely by volunteers and sustained by the generosity of the community. Most of our food is donated directly or purchased with privately donated money. We rely on the people of our community. THANK YOU.
